Electro-Mechanical Technician – $3,000 Sign-On Bonus!

Position Summary

Assembles, modifies, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, or reworks precision, small batch standard and customized electro-mechanical assemblies

7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday; additional hours as needed

Essential Functions

  • Reads work   instructions,   control   plans,   engineering specifications, sketches, assembly drawings and receives verbal instructions to complete work assignments
  • Assembles mechanical products with & without detailed assembly documentation
  • Prepare and install precision parts such as: bases, tops, posts, linear and rotary bearings
  • Perform soldering, stage wiring, panel wiring, and cable wiring
  • Examines closely toleranced parts for form and fit
  • Examines parts for defects such as breaks, scratches, and other irregularities
  • Advanced troubleshooting to determine the cause and solution to malfunctioning products
  • Performs modifications and fabrication to repair mechanical assemblies.
  • Provides supervisors with pertinent information regarding the build and provides estimates of completion
  • Recognizes and uses hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, files, etc
  • Recognizes and uses inspection equipment such as scales, calipers, micrometers, electronic indicators, etc.
  • Follows detailed instructions and procedures to conduct functional tests to evaluate electronic equipment
  • Reads and interprets schematic, assembly, and wiring diagrams
  • Adjusts and calibrates electronic equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment to the component level
  • Conducts functional tests on electro-mechanical systems to evaluate system performance under actual operation conditions

Additional Duties

  • Assemble, wire, checkout, and package Finished Products as needed
  • Employee may be asked to train other employees or to help develop formal training programs for the department
  • As assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, emails, and memos
  • Effectively communicate to customers, clients, and employees
  • Ability to write simple correspondences
  • Skilled in basic math and measuring
  • Ability to work independently and assemble mechanical systems with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with ESD precautions
  • Effective soldering skills
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic, assembly, and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to use digital multi-meters, current probes, and oscilloscopes
  • Advanced knowledge of digital and analog devices
  • Advanced problem solving skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two year associates degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent
  • At least five years of relevant experience
  • Qualified candidates must have a mechanical aptitude
  • Qualified candidates must have experience with utilizing tools

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Work is generally performed in a production environment
  • May be required to be in one place for extended periods of time
  • Will be required to work with other employees frequently
  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
